If you’re a fan of Japanese pork cutlets (tonkatsu), you’ve probably heard of “Nimura”, the famous spot that often appears in guidebooks.
But here’s a little local secret:
“Tonkatsu SUZUYA” is just as delicious — maybe even better — and much easier to get into.
It’s rarely packed, even during dinner time, so you can actually relax and enjoy your meal.
Located right in Kabukicho, the Shinjuku Main Store has window seats that overlook the neon-lit O-Guard bridge, one of Shinjuku’s most iconic night views.
Their signature dish is the “Tonkatsu Chazuke” — a crispy cutlet served with hot tea poured over rice. It’s a unique twist you can’t find everywhere.
If you prefer something classic and rich, try the “Kurobuta Special Loin Cutlet Set”, made with Kirishima Highland Royal Pork. It’s on the pricier side, but totally worth it for real tonkatsu lovers.

And by the way — if you’re still curious about Nimura, there’s actually another branch right here on Otakibashi Street (the same street as our salon).
Less crowded than the Kabukicho one, so either way, you’ve got options!

先日（飛び込みで）行った「すずや」がなかなか良かったですよというお話です。
英語では“新宿の隠れた名店”としていますが、この辺りでは言わずと知れた有名店みたいです。
